We Go Together Like Bees & Honey with Randy Nguyen

We are rolling out the Crafty Crew red carpet today for Randy Nguyen and the final card in his bee series! Randy created the cutest honey-sweet design featuring the adorable bear bees from our Bees & Honey Stamp Set paired with coordinating paper from the Buzzy Buzzin 6x6 Paper Pack. With soft yellow honeycomb details, layered hexagon windows, and a pretty pink sentiment banner, this card is full of cheerful charm.

Here’s what Randy had to say about the project:

Hello crafty friends, DT Randy here, and welcome back to the blog! Today I have my last card in the bee series that I created, and this time I am featuring the adorable bear bees from the Bees & Honey Stamp Set.

I first stamped out my images and colored them with Copic Markers. Once they were finished, I fussy cut them out so they would be ready to pop into the design.

I wanted to pair these sweet images with the super cute coordinating paper from the Buzzy Buzzin 6x6 Paper Pack. The bee-themed patterns work perfectly with these images and help tie the whole card together.

For my first paper, I die cut it down to an A2 panel using a die set from my stash. Then I took a hexagon die from my stash and die cut it three times to create the frame for the card front.

For the second paper, I trimmed it down so it would fit neatly behind the frame and show through the hexagon openings.

Next, I heat embossed the sentiment onto pink cardstock, then trimmed it down and turned it into a flag-style sentiment strip. The soft pink adds such a pretty contrast against the warm yellows and bee patterns.

To assemble the card, I adhered the two papers together using foam tape for dimension. Then I placed the two bear bees into the top and bottom hexagon cutouts.

To complete the card, I adhered the sentiment strip toward the middle right side using liquid adhesive.
