Think Pink: A Sweet Bee Card with a Soft Honey Twist

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Megan and this beautiful bee-inspired card! Featuring the Lemons & Daisies Pattern Paper, Honey Comb Bits Stencil, Honey Comb Stencil, and the Bees and Honey Stamp Set, this project is a lovely reminder that bee cards do not have to stick to traditional yellow and black. Megan’s soft pink palette gives this design a fresh, whimsical feel while still keeping all the sweet honeycomb charm we love.

Hello all! Megan with the design team here. Today I am sharing a sweet card that features the Crafty Stamp Co April Sketch #25 and the Bees and Honey Stamp Set.

I started by coloring in the adorable honey bears from the Bees and Honey Stamp Set. I then colored the honeycomb heart in pinks to match the paper. I did give the bears a few white gel pen highlights.

For my arch background I used the Honey Comb Bits Stencil to add a mix of Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry honeycomb bits. The edge of the paper is also inked with a smidge of Spun Sugar. Then I added a bit of splatter in pink and black, just for fun. Behind the stenciled image, is a strip of the Summer and Lemons Pattern Paper.

I then used the Honey Comb Bits stencil to dry emboss a piece of white card stock to add texture before the vellum layer. To do this I lightly spritzed the paper with water and then ran the stencil with a shim in my layer sandwich to create the embossing. It is such a simple and fun technique, and you get to use your supplies in multiple ways. 

I added a vellum layer and pink cardstock layer under the honey comb embossed paper. To complete this sweet card, I added Sherbert Sparkle Crafty dots in two corners and fished with the sentiment stamped on white paper.
