Sparkle, Sunshine & Magic with Deborah Hellman

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Deborah Hellman and this sparkly, colorful birthday card featuring our Crafty Crew Kit. We love how Deborah layered the sweet fairy image over the bright patterned paper for a card that feels full of sparkle, sunshine, and magic. This project is such a lovely example of how stamped images, patterned paper, and sweet sentiments can work together to create a cheerful handmade birthday card.

Here’s what Deborah had to say about the project:

Hi everyone! Deborah here and I’m super excited to share with you the fairy card that I created using the new July Crafty Crew Kit that is available now for pre-order until June 15. For my card, I used the Wings & Wishes and the Flutterbys & Blooms Stamp Set, as well as the Rainbow Butterflies & Alcohol Inks Pattern Paper.

After stamping and cutting out my images on white cardstock, I selected my cardstock. Once I had selected my paper colors, I colored my images using alcohol ink markers making sure to select colors that coordinated with my papers. I decided to color my fairy using head-to-toe blended rainbow colors to match my rainbow background. I also added a little glitter gel to her wings and bow for some special fairy sparkle ✨️.

  • Hair - RV 10, 55, 66; YR 00, 01, 02; Y38
  • Skin - E 00, 01, 11, 13; R 20, 30
  • Leaves - YG 01, 03 17
  • Flowers - Y 08, 38; BG 11, 13
  • Shoes - RV 66; BV 04; V 15
  • Dress - V 15, 17; BV 02, 04; BG 11, 13, 15; B 21, 23
  • Wings - B 0000, 000; R 000, 00
  • Eyes - BG 10, 11
  • Bow - Y 21, 26
  • Small Butterfly - RV 55; R 00, 000;
  • B 000, 0000; E 50, 51, 53

A2 card layer dimensions:

  • Base layer - 4¼" x 5½"
  • Rectangle Band - 4¼" x 1¾"
  • White Rectangle - 2⅞" x 3⅞"
To complete the card, I assembled and attached the cut cardstock, colored stamped images, and sentiments. I also added adhesive tape foam behind all of my colored images and sentiments for some added dimension.
