Sending Springtime Smiles with Egg-stra Tate | Card by Megan Cooper

Today we’re rolling out the crafty red carpet for Megan Cooper and this absolutely sweet spring card featuring Positive Tate – A Little Egg-stra! Between the soft pink florals, the sparkly Easter eggs, and that darling little Tate pulling a wagon full of color, this card is full of cheerful springtime charm. Megan paired our Summer Lemons & Daisies 6x6 Paper Pack and more with the cutest Easter imagery, and we are loving every glittery little detail.

Here’s what Megan had to say about her lovely creation.

Hey all, Megan with the design team here. Today I have a card that features Positive Tate - a Little Egg-stra 4x6 Stamp Set. I paired sweet Tate with Oh baby 6 x 6 pattern paper, Summer Lemons & Daisies 6x6 Pattern Paper and Sherbet Sparkle Crafty Dots.

I worked in reverse for this card, this process seems to be working for me, so I am rollin' with it. I started by picking out pattern paper that paired nicely together. I liked how the soft pinks of the Oh Baby pattern paper paired with the mix of pinks in the Pink Daisy Paper.
I picked out the stamp set I wanted to use, Positive Tate a Little Egg-stra and worked on the sentiment first. I went with Sending Springtime Smiles and matted it with a scrap of the Oh Baby pink gingham pattern paper. From there I picked out Tate with the egg cart. I colored Tate with Copic Markers. For the egg colors I picked colors in the background of the paper to help bring the paper forward a bit.

As I layered the card, I felt it needed an additional detail to bring in more of an Easter element. I added two die cut eggs (a die from my stash) that I cut from glitter paper and inked up with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and one I inked the other with Festive Berries Distress ink. It was a bit bright, so I mixed in a bit of the Spun Sugar to tone it down.

I adhered the layers using foam tape and liquid glue. The elements that are popped up on foam tape are Tate and the egg basket, the sentiment, and the Pink floral layer.

To finish the card, I added white splatter and the darker pink Sherbet Spot Crafty Dots. I am really happy with how this simply layered card turned out.
