Pup, Pup, and Away with Deborah Hellman

Hey hey heeeeey, crafty friends! Today, we’re rolling out the red carpet for Deborah Hellman and this bold, playful superhero birthday card featuring our Be Fursome 4x6" Stamp Set and Comic Book Backgrounds 6x6" Pattern Paper Pack. We love how Deborah paired the superhero pups with bright comic-inspired patterned paper and layered black-and-white city details. This project is such a fun example of how bold backgrounds, character stamps, and playful sentiments can come together to create an action-packed handmade birthday card.

Hi everyone! Deborah here and I’m super excited to share with you a fun birthday card that I created using the new Be Fursome 4x6" Stamp Set. These super hero Corgis are SUPER cute! Of course, as a Corgi mom, and I am drawn to cute Corgi stamp sets. This set includes 3 Corgi stamps, 1 action stamp, and 5 sentiment stamp options. I also used the Comic Book Backgrounds 6x6" Pattern Paper Pack which is a perfect pairing for this card.

After stamping and cutting out my images on white cardstock, I selected my patterned paper. Once I had narrowed down my paper colors, I colored my images using alcohol ink markers making sure to select colors that coordinated with my papers. 

Here are my A2 card layer dimensions:

• Base layer - 4¼" x 5½"
• Black & White Rectangles - (1) 2" x 3", (2) 1¾" x 2½"
• Smaller White Rectangles - (2) 1⅜" x 1⅞"

To complete the card, I assembled and attached the cut cardstock, colored stamped images, and sentiments. I also added adhesive tape foam behind all of my colored images and sentiments for some added dimension. I also added a few enamel dots in opposite corners to help draw your eye around the entire card.
