Pup, Pup and Away Birthday Card with Randy Nguyen

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Randy Nguyen and this bright, playful superhero birthday card featuring our Be Fursome 4x6 Stamp Set and Rays of the Sun 6x6 Stencil Set.

We love how Randy used the bold sun rays, fluffy layered clouds, and flying superhero pup to create a card full of fun energy. This project is such a fun example of how stenciling and sweet stamped images can come together to create a cheerful handmade birthday card.

Hello crafty friends, DT Randy here, welcome back to the blog. Today, I am showcasing a card that features the adorable super corgi from the Be Fursome stamp set. I wanted to create a simple background for this adorable pup.

 

I first stamped out my image and fussy cut the corgi out. I then used Copic Markers to color the image. 

For my background, I took an A2 panel and ink blended it with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide. I then took the stencil from the Rays of the Sun stencil set and ink blended it on the panel using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides.

 

I then took white watercolor and splattered it over the panel.

I took a cloud die that I had in my stash and die cut it out once from white cardstock and once more from vellum.

On the white cloud piece, I stamped my sentiment directly onto it using black ink.

I then adhered the two cloud pieces onto my panel using liquid adhesive. I completed the card by adding my super corgi with a piece of foam tape.
