Movie Time with Jay
Halloween is really one of my favorite times of the year since it's a great way to use products in ways they weren't originally intended. I thought it would be great to use the size I rarely use (slimline) and do a Movie Time Meadow at the Monster Movies type of card. The awesome thing was the that two characters were already facing the right direction so it was pretty easy to pull together.
Supplies
- Crafty Stamp Co. - Movie Time Meadow
- Crafty Stamp Co. - Movie Monsters
- Crafty Stamp Co. - Lights, Camera, Action! Paper
- Cream and Dark Red paper (~80lb would be optimal)
- A shiny paste of your choice to add some visual texture
Steps
- Cut a 3 1/2 x 8 Slimline card base (I went with a nice cranberry red to match the paper)
- Cut a layer (I used cream) 3 1/4 x 7 3/4
- Add the striped paper (3 1/4 x 5 1/4) to one side
- You can use some texture paste on the blank side (It looked not quite vintage movie theater with just the cream)
- Color your two characters (Meadow from the 1st stamp set and the female monster from the 2nd). The chair textures was done by flat coloring and then doing some stippling for a bit more visual interest
- The sentiments were created on an electronic cutting machine, although 'You electrify my Halloween" would probably work fantastically here.
- Add the screen screen (a 2 x 3 red piece with a 1/8 boarder for the paper) and pop it up with foam tape.
I really enjoyed using more subtle colors on the monster so that she looked more ghostly. I really had fun pulling this together and I would love to see some of your projects using some of the different stamp sets together.
