Merry Christmas with Deborah Hellman

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Deborah Hellman and this classic, festive nutcracker card featuring our Nutcracker Guardians 4x6 Stamp Set and Whispers of Winter 6x6 Pattern Paper.

We love how Deborah paired the trio of colorful nutcrackers with the soft snowy patterned paper for a Christmas card that feels polished, traditional, and full of holiday charm. This project is such a lovely example of how stamped images, winter paper, and clean layering can come together to create a handmade Christmas card with timeless appeal.

Hi everyone! Deborah here with a little Christmas in July 🎄. I like to get a good start of my Christmas cards so that I don't feel frantic trying to make a bunch later in the year. Fall and winter are such busy times for me, I like the comfort of knowing that I have at least one thing I don't have to stress about!

I have always loved decorating with Nutcrackers and these stamped Nutcracker Guardians are just so handsome, what's not to love. I created this A2 card using the Nutcracker Guardians 4x6" Stamp Set. This set includes 3 image stamps and 3 sentiment stamp options. I also used the Whispers of Winter 6x6" Pattern Paper Pack which is a perfect pairing for this card. I just love the deep reds and greens paired with pale blue-grey colors.

After stamping and cutting out my images on white cardstock, I selected my patterned paper. I added a strip of gold metallic cardstock for some added festive shine. It is hard to see in the finished photos, but it definitely added a special touch to the card.

I prefer to select my paper first so that I can select alcohol ink markers that coordinate with my papers. These guys look so cute all colored up!

Once my images were colored, I assembled and attached the cut cardstock. I added adhesive tape foam behind my Nutcrackers for some added dimension and stamped the sentiment right on the cardstock.
