Mer-Tastic Whiskers of the Sea Card with Shilo Miles

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Shilo Miles and this soft, sparkly mermaid kitty card featuring our Whiskers of the Sea 4x6 Stamp Set. We love how Shilo created a dreamy underwater-inspired design with layered texture, soft color, and sweet mer-kitty charm. This project is such a fun example of how a playful stamped image can become the center of a handmade card full of sparkle, movement, and whimsy.

Hi everyone! This is Shilo! Today’s card features the Whiskers of the Sea stamp set from Crafty Stamp Co. I’m not sure, but I think it was the fact that Mer-Cats exist that made me immediately decide to have fun with my colors! Because of that, I chose to mix this stamp set with the Rainbow, Butterflies & Alcohol Ink Paper Pad.

I colored a pink cat with a rainbow tail because this cutie lives in a rainbow ocean! My “sea water” is one of the beautiful papers from the Rainbow, Butterflies & Alcohol Ink Paper Pack. I also added in a paper layer to mimic bubbles by dry embossing the Party Polka Dots stencil. I added some purple distress ink with a blending brush, which helps to show the texture even more. A few clear dew drops and some sequins, and this Mer-Cat is one happy little critter in her rainbow world!
