Mer-May Card | Make a Splash Meadow Mermaid Shaker Card

Hey hey heeeeey, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a sparkly underwater shaker card featuring the Make a Splash Meadow Stamp Set, and oh my goodness, this one was just plain fun to put together. I paired her with the Mermaid Dreams 6x6 Pattern Paper and the bubble wreath die to create a layered, magical, ocean-inspired card full of soft pinks, bright aquas, shimmer, and shaker sparkle.

I wanted this card to feel like Meadow was swimming right through a dreamy mermaid lagoon, so I started with soft ocean-patterned papers from the Mermaid Dreams 6x6 Pattern Paper. The scale pattern in the background gives the whole card that underwater feel without overpowering the main image, and I love how the purple and blue tones peek through behind the shaker window.

For the focal point, I colored the mermaid from Make a Splash Meadow with Copic markers and gave her soft pink hair with a bright aqua mermaid tail. I added some white gel pen details to bring in a little extra sparkle and texture, especially on the hair and tail. Those little highlights make her feel even more magical.

The shaker window is filled with a mix of sequins, flat-backed gems, and pretty little ocean-colored embellishments. I love how the shaker bits move around behind her and add so much sparkle without taking away from the colored image. There is just something about a shaker card that makes everything feel extra special.

I also layered in the bubble wreath die around the background, and I think that may be one of my favorite details on this card. The aqua bubble die cuts add so much movement and texture, almost like she is swimming through bubbles. They also help frame the card and pull that bright aqua from the mermaid tail into the rest of the design.

To finish the card, I added soft scalloped layers, extra shimmer, and a few scattered embellishments around the scene. Between the shaker window, the bubble wreath die, the patterned paper, and all those sparkly little details, this card has such a fun magical mermaid feel.
