Macaron Meadow with Megan
Hello everyone! Megan with the DT here with a Macaron card. Do you ever make your own pattern paper? I don't very often but when I saw the Macaron Meadow stamp set, I knew the Macarons were meant to be a pattern paper.
I began by pulling out a trusty stamp block, I started by stamping my first Macaron in the center of a 5 1/8" x 4 1/8" piece of white card stock. Working my way out from the middle I stamped the Macarons in a vertical and horizontal pattern until the majority of the page was full. I made sure to stamp the edges where there were large blank spaces with the edge of each macaron stamp with black ink.
From there I stamped out Meadow, colored with Copic markers and a touch of white color pencil for highlights. Then cut her out using my Scan N Cut. I decided I wanted to keep the pattern paper black and white, and decided a Black A2 card base was the perfect base color.
I die cut a stitched black rectangle for my Meadow image to sit on and added a thin vellum border behind the black stitched rectangle. I added foam tape to the stitched rectangle vellum layer and adhered that at an angle to the front of my card. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock in black ink and gave it a black layer underneath to help it pop off the page a bit. I popped up the top portion of the sentiment with foam tape and glued the bottom half to the stitched rectangle, for a simple but impactful birthday card.
I hope this card inspires you to look at your stamps with different eyes to create something fun!
