Inking ’Bout You with Shilo Miles

Today, we’re rolling out the red carpet for Shilo Miles and this soft, sparkly ocean card featuring our Ocean Friends 4x6 Stamp Set, Mermaid Dreams Paper Pack, and Bubbles 6x6 Stencil. We love how Shilo paired the sweet squid image with layered purple tones, bubbly texture, and inky splatter details. This project is such a fun example of how texture, patterned paper, and a playful stamped image can come together to create a handmade card full of underwater charm.

Hello lovelies! This is Shilo! I hope you all enjoy a good pun?! Because today my card is all about it! I personally love puns so I was super excited to share this card with you.

Today’s card is featuring the Ocean Friends Stamp Set from Crafty Stamp Co. I paired this fun guy with the Mermaid Dreams Paper Pack and the Bubbles Stencil.

 

 

 

I colored this adorable squid with my Copics to be similar to their real life coloring…but because of the iridescence they often have, mine only has a bit of a likeness. I did add sparkles to try to make my squid more iridescent like. Regardless…I think he’s pretty dang cute!

 

I layered the paper from the Mermaid Dreams paper pack with a couple embossed pieces using the Bubble Stencil. Since this card is all about “inking”… I added some ink around the edges of my paper. Plus  an “ink spot” from the squid - I just used black distress ink and then splattered the area. But I think it is quite effective in giving the illusion that the squid “inked” hehe!
