Hey Boo! Stretching Your Stamps for Valentine’s Day — A Sweet Ghost Card by Randy
Get ready for a sweet twist on Valentine’s Day cardmaking! Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Design Team member Randy Nguyen who’s showing us just how far you can stretch your stamps — even into holidays you wouldn’t expect.
Randy takes the playful ghost duo from our It’s A Boo Thang Stamp Set and pairs them with vibrant ink-blended color and florals using the Spring Breeze 6×6 Stencil. The result? A charming, unconventional Valentine that’s equal parts clever and cute. 💘
If you’ve been looking for new ways to use your seasonal stamps year-round — or you love an excuse to blend bold color — you’ll want to take notes on this one!
Hello crafty friends, DT Randy here, welcome back to the blog. Can you believe we are already over halfway through January?! We are getting so close to Valentine's Day and I have been working on "unconventional" Valentine's Day cards that feature images you would not expect to be on one. I feel like this would be another way to stretch your stamps.
Today I am featuring the two ghosts from the 'It's A Boo Thang' stamp set in a card, paired with the "Hey Boo!" sentiment that I think is appropriate for the occasion.

I first stamped out my images and fussy cut them out. I then put them aside to start working on my background.
I took an A2 panel and blended it with Dried Margiold, Saltwater Taffy and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxides. I then took the Spring Breeze Stencil and blended it with Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick, and Villainous Potion Distress Oxides.

I then took another A2 panel and trimmed off the bottom 1/4 of the panel. I adhered this piece to my background using liquid adhesive.
I stamped the sentiment directly onto the panel using black ink. I then adhered my two ghosts above it using foam tape.

To complete the card, I punched out 2 red hearts using a paper punch and red cardstock. I adhered the hearts above the ghosts with liquid adhesive.
I hope this post inspires you to stretch your stamp sets as well and use images meant for other occasions on cards for new occasions.
