Have a Hoppin’ Good Day with Froggy Quotes & Shilo Miles
We are rolling out the Crafty Crew red carpet today for Shilo Miles and this cheerful Froggy Quotes card! Shilo created such a fun pond-inspired design using our Froggy Quotes 4x6 Stamp Set and Super Stuff 6x6 Paper Pack, pairing sweet little frogs, lily pads, dragonflies, textured white layers, and bright pops of blue for a card that feels playful, fresh, and full of happy movement.
Here’s what Shilo had to say about her project:
To start, I stamped out these cute frogs and their lilypads and colored them with my Copics. I also colored three butterflys and the pretty flower…finishing these off with some pretty glitter glue. Once I had all these cuties colored and fussy cut I knew I wanted to create a water scene somehow…because frogs need a pond!
I used a wavy, textured embossing folder from my stash and cut out some circles in it. I thought the circles would also create a little spot for each critter to “hang” out. I also wanted to add some more color into my scene and blue made the most sense to me….because, water. After digging through my stash of Crafty Stamp Co paper, I came across this pattern from the Super Stuff Paper Pad. It has rays on it so it didn’t resemble “water” exactly. But I’m gonna tell you how I made it more cohesive with the look I wanted.
A quick how to:
- Cut blue background paper to fit A2 card-base leaving a ¼” border – 4 X 5.25”
- Distress the blue using a bit of sandpaper directly to the paper. This will scuff it up a bit and make the “rays” look more subtle. This paper is beautiful, by the way - it held up wonderfully to all my technique abuse!
- Then splatter the paper with a couple shades of blue (I also used a shimmer color)
- Let dry.
Once I had my blue background paper looking more like water…my card came together quickly. I attached the white embossed piece using foam tape creating dimension. The circles really did create spots for my frogs and flowers to go. After placing all my critters and the sentiment, I added in some clear gems to the water…I think this was the perfect finishing touch.

Great card, Shilo! These are such cute frogs. Love the embossed texture. I had no idea the blue paper had those rays on it. It now comes across to my eyes as rays in the water.
