Feeling So Stabby with Shilo Miles

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Shilo Miles and this playful, underwater birthday card featuring our Rare & Extraordinary Stamp Set, Birthday Brights Paper Pack, For The Gentlemen Paper Pack, and Party Polkadots Stencil. We love how Shilo paired the sweet narwhal image with bubbly stencil texture, layered patterned paper, and a sentiment that brings so much personality. This project is such a fun example of how mixing papers, stencils, and stamped images can create a handmade card full of whimsy and charm. Here’s what Shilo had to say about the project.

Hello lovelies! This is Shilo! Today’s card features the Rare & Extraordinary stamp set with a mix & match of two different paper packs from Crafty Stamp Co.

I wanted this card to be perfect to give to ANYONE, and I think I achieved just that! My card is the perfect way to tell someone “sorry” by adding that cuteness factor with a pun! Does it get better? – I know  I’d forgive you!

To create this fun little scene, I colored my images with Copic markers, fussy cut them out, and added sparkle and shine with stickles and glossy accents. For my “water” background – after cutting out a circle, I used the Party Polkadots Stencil with some texture paste (just around the edges of the curve). Once that was dry, I used the smooshing technique to add some watercolor. I splattered it. And as a last touch I spritzed the whole thing with glimmer. The rest was easy…a bit of color, pattern and lots of foam tape. The best part – my narwhal is on a wobbler!
