Crafty Time Instead of Cleaning – A Playful Handmade Card by Deborah Hellman

Today we’re rolling out the crafty red carpet for design team member Deborah Hellman @hellmad and her fabulously relatable card featuring our Crafty Friends and Handmade Sentiments stamp sets, paired with the bubbly fun of Let’s Party 6x6 Pattern Paper. With bright blue circles, crisp white texture, and that iconic “I made this instead of cleaning” sentiment, Deborah has captured the heart of every maker who has ever chosen ink and markers over chores.

Hi everyone! Deborah here and I’m excited to share with you my adorable Crafty Friends 4x6 Stamp Set card! This wonderful stamp set includes two main figures (male and female), six crafty tool stamps, and one sentiment.

To create this card, I first selected my paper and color palette. The patterned paper that I selected came from the Let's Party 6x6 Patterned Paper Pack. I really loved the playful dots of the paper and paired it with a circle background die from my stash.

Then, I stamped my images and sentiments on white cardstock and colored them with alcohol ink markers using a fun color palette of red, bright blue, and purple to coordinate with my paper. I added an additional fun sentiment from the Handmade Sentiments 4x6 Stamp Set. I cut out my images using my ScanNCut, but they would be easy to fussy cut. When you purchase the stamp set, it includes SVG files.

Next, I attached my background, images, sentiment to my A2 cardbase. I used dimensional adhesive tape to elevate and add interest to my focal images.
