Cold Weather Penguins with Randy
Hello everyone, Randy here today! I am so excited to be a part of the Crafty Stamp Co. design team and ready to showcase their amazing sets.
If you are like me, even though Christmas is over, you still have holiday cards you still need to send out. Thankfully, since it is still winter, and sending cards is always happy mail, the recipient will still love receiving the cards even if it's a little late.
Over the next few weeks, I will be showcasing some of Crafty Stamp Co.'s holiday sets in quick and easy cards, just in case you are still sending out Holiday cards as well.
Today, I am going to use the Cold Weather Penguins stamp set that features some of the cutest penguins ever!
I first stamped out my images and fussy cut them out. Then I used Copic Markers to color the images. I kept with similar, bright colors so the penguins could match.
To create my background, I took an A2 panel and tore a piece of low tack tape in half to mask off the bottom of panel. I made the sure imperfect edge was facing upwards so it looked like the penguins were standing on snow that was falling.
I then blended Fossilized Ember, Scattered Straw, Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxides over the panel.
Once I finished blending, I splattered white watercolor over the panel to make it look like it was snowing.
I let the panel dry for a bit. After it was dry, I stamped the "sweater weather" sentiment directly onto the panel using black ink.
To complete the card, I added my three penguins to the panel using foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post today.
