Butterfly Wishes with Danni Bindel

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Danni Bindel and this bright, layered butterfly card featuring our Crafty Crew Kit. We love how Danni used the colorful patterned paper to build a bold layered background for the sweet butterfly images. This project is such a fun example of how simple circles, patterned paper layers, and stamped butterflies can come together to create a cheerful handmade card.

I used the Flutterbys & Blooms stamp set for today's card making tutorial! I love how whimsical the butterflies are in this set and the great sentiments! 

To begin I chose a sketch from the Inspired By The Sketch book. I chose Sketch 46 and then picked out papers from the Rainbow Butterflies & Alcohol Ink 6x6 Paper Pad. I always like to "try things out" before I move on so I worked on the layout and layers so all I had to do was add the images.
I chose 3 of the smaller butterflies from the stamp set to stamp onto small die cut circles and color with my Copics with white gel highlights.

Copics Used:

  • Background: BG11. BG10
  • Butterflies:R85, R83, R81, YR07, YR04, YR02, YG17, YG13, YG11, B06, B04, V04, V01, Y38, Y19

I decorated the inside by stamping the sentiment, "Fluttering By To Say Hi!" and one of the butterflies in a colored ink. I added a few strips of the paper to carry the same feel throughout the card.

 


The final step was to put it all together. I popped up the butterfly circles on foam tape so they would stand out. I added three pretty embellishments to the corner for a little interest. This card with the bright butterflies just makes me happy!
