Are You Yeti for Winter? A Sweet Card by Shilo Miles

Today we’re rolling out the red carpet for Shilo Miles and this adorable, pastel winter card featuring our Yeti for Winter Stamp Set, Nutcrackers and Cocoa 6x6 Pattern Paper Pack, and Party Polka Dots Stencil. We love how Shilo combined soft pinks, icy blues, and delicate patterned papers with sparkly snowflakes and a sweet little yeti to create a winter card full of whimsy. This project is such a lovely example of how stenciled backgrounds, patterned paper, and thoughtful embellishments can come together to create a handmade card with beautiful dimension and texture.

Hello lovelies! This is Shilo!  Are YOU “Yeti” for winter?  I know I’m not!….but I’m never ready for winter. Grey day after grey day here = not fun. I do love the beauty of the snow, and I’m betting this Yeti does too!

Today’s card features the Yeti For Winter stamp set with the Party Polka Dots Stencil and Nutcracker & Cocoa paper pack from Crafty Stamp Co.

 

You can probably tell that I picked my colors out from this paper pack? I do that often and then I’ll color and coordinate to what I chose. This yeti was no exception. I love his little aqua colored face! I used my Copics to color him, then added my signature gloss and shine! I also used my craft knife to cut a slit by his paw so I could have him holding his mug.

My background was inspired by the paper with the stars on it (Just a small piece ended up on my card – see the tab). Because it had aqua colored circles and stars, I used the Party Polka Dots Stencil and did some ink blending first. After the background was covered in polka dots I used a star embossing folder to add texture. This repeats the pattern in the paper I was inspired from but isn’t “exact”.

Layers, stitching, dimension and some snow…finish off the card with some fabulous winter vibes for the yeti in all of us – you know….the small part that loves some part of winter…or maybe it’s a big part?
